Instagram Insta-recap

Since I haven't re-caped in a few weeks here are my favorite Instagram recaps for the past 2 weeks.

Lately at church each week one of my children has some weird mis-match moment. You'll have to check out my actual Instagram to see my sons socks. This one was Yesenia, stripes, florals, and mint green leggings.

We celebrated the 4 year anniversary since my grandma's passing. Can't believe how much our family has grown since then. Can't have a Halloween or fall season with out thinking of her. She loved the kids costumes and all the colors changing!

Last but not least, my husbands last minute provision. We hate when we get shopping carts or high chairs with broken straps. Luckily she was wearing overalls and dad found a way to strap her in anyway!

Come check out other's Instagrams recaps, or link up your own at Tawny's Tidbits.

May Cara Box

Last month I did a blog gift swap called the Cara Box. I have so much going on right now I decided to skip May, till I saw the theme for the month. The theme was to send goodies from your home state. I originally thought what a great missionary and sharing experience. I got to send some to Courtney from www.unpredictableandchic22. blogspot.com. She is not only from Utah but also LDS. How funny?! Oh well, I had a lot of fun getting idea's from friends and putting her box together. I sent her Salt Water Taffy from Sweet's Candy. They make it here in SLC that we recently just toured. I sent a cookie cutter in the shape of our state, and some Utah caramels. She loves to watch movies with her husband so I sent her the movie 17 Miracles. It is a movie about some of the miracles some pioneers went through to get to Utah. Check out the movie trailer.

I also grew up near the lead guitarist for the band Imagine Dragons. I figure since he is from Utah, it counts.  Read about going to their concert here. Even though Courtney is also from Utah I hope she enjoyed her Utah cara box!

Then the person sending me a cara box was Kate from New Jersey. Kate's blog is www.classylivingblog.blogspot. com. I was looking forward to see what goodies she was going to send from New Jersey. We went through there on our way to New York, and almost went there again had Steven continued selling pest control 1 more summer.
I got this cute little green tea towel from her local farmers market. New Jersey is apparently the garden state, I had no idea. Then I got some yummy  marinara sauce from Roselli's which is really close to her. I am excided to try it, spaghetti is a family favorite around my house.

Last but not least chocolate. I had a friend say they love Tastykakes from Philly and local surrounding suburbs. Two thumbs up from the kids and I. They are so yummy, I wish I wouldn't have shared with my kids. They are now asking me if my "blog friend" will send more.
She also sent Lindt and Cadbury chocolate. Obviosley not from New Jersey but she has gone to their factories in Europe, so it counts. My brother served a mission in England for 2 years and brought me home similar chocolate. I like Europes Cadbury better than America's, it's creamier.

Thanks so much Kate for all the yummy local goodies.

Mug O' Comfort Swap

Who doesn't like getting a gift a goodies in the mail? I know I love it, and that is why I did 2 swaps this month. This one I was paired with Tami who is another blogger also from Utah. I lucked out! Tami totally went the extra mile with my gift box.
As per my mother taught me you always start with the card. All I have to say is I need me some cute cards like these!

Of course my kids were curious as to what mom was getting in the mail when it wasn't even her birthday! Tami was so sweet to not even leave them out. She got chalk for my kids and bath toys for the baby. Plus Sense and Sensibility for me once the kids go to bed. I plan on drawing chalk all afternoon till they're so worn out all they want is a bath before bedtime. Then I can cuddle up and watch this classic chick flick.

I don't know where she found this Mexican hot chocolate, but I'm thrilled she did. The kind I use is not as quick to make as this instant hot chocolate is going to be. I'm very excited to break it open.
Tami sent me all kind of bonus goodies like nuts for Hawaii, chocolate pretzels, and marshmellow bits.
Not to mention this gorgeous and perfect mug! It says, "Keep Calm and Carry On."  Too perfect for my chaotic life. Thanks for all the gifts. You can learn more about Tami at stwarnercorner.blogspot.com.

You can view everyone else's Mug O Comfort swaps here.

Want to participate in a swap of your own? Keep in mind you might not be paired with someone as fabulous as I was. Here are a few swaps coming up.

Chaotic Goddess Swaps have several coming up.

April Cara Box Exchange

I was very lucky to do my first cara box. If your not familiar with the cara box you can learn more at Kaitlyn's blog, she is the creator of the cara box. You basically get the opportunity to get to know 2 different people. 1 person sends you a cara box, the other person you send your own cara box to.
I got to know the the sweetest person, Carrie. You can see what fun things I sent her with the "Going Green" theme here.

The fabulous Kristal from Atutudes sent me lots of green things in honor of Earth day. I got Green nail polish, green note cards (which I use a lot), staples and garden gloves. I am just getting my garden and starter plants going, so the seeds she sent couldn't have come at a better time! Here in Utah It's finally nice enough to start yard work too, so the gloves will be very loved. She practically read my mind, I desperately needed new ones.
Plus it all came in the cutest reusable Breakfast at Tiffany's bag! Which made me think of her super cute Breakfast at Tiffany's Tutu. Isn't that so cute? Kristal makes the cutest tutu's which you can see on her etsy page here. Thanks Kristal for my cara box, I love it!

If you want to do a cara box check out wiffesionals for next month's theme.

The Weekly Roundup

Since I started blogging again I have gotten more into blogging and the blogging community than I thought I would. I come across posts all the time that sometimes I just want to ditto or copy and paste. Here are a few of this last weeks favorites.
The Importance of Being Reese wrote a post To Leash Or Not To Leash. It's about leashing your child. Wether it's for you or not it is up to each parent. For me it's a yes.  Once my oldest son ran thru people's legs as we were funneling out of an auditorium at a college graduation. I never want to go thru those emotions again! I would rather a day of bad looks than loose my child for even a second.
Another blog I like is Back East Blonde. She wrote a blog post called Why Can't We Play With Guns? This one made me laugh because I wasn't allowed to play with guns growing up either. Not even water guns!
I know I haven't posted a lot about this yet, but I enjoy being active. The blog Mommy of Two had a guest post by Full-On Fit. The post is about getting fit as a family. Loved the idea's in it, considered it copied and pasted!
Thanks fellow bloggers for such great posts. Also thanks High-Heeled Love and My So Called Chaos for hosting this as well!

Mug O' Comfort Swap

I enjoyed my last blog swap so much I thought I would do it again. You can see how by signing up with Chaotic Goddess Swaps. This time I get to swap out a mug with some fun stuff to go with it. I personally am a huge hot cocoa, herbal tea and cider drinker. I probably have at least a mug a day of hot chocolate, especially mexican chocolate. I'm way excited!

My current favorite mug is an old 1980's Playgirl mug.

Lucky Leprechaun Blog Swap

Lucky Leprechaun Blog Swap

I decided to try something new. I participated in a blog a swap. A what? That is what I said at first too. Someone hosts a blog swap and picks something to swap, in this case a book and a polish. Then we are given a partner who also has a blog to swap with.  We have guidelines and dealines and in the end I was VERY happy I did it.

Not only did I get cool new stuff I got the oppurtunity to be more aware of other things out there. For instance I am excited to try a new auther by the name of Mary Kay Andrews who I am excited to try out her "Savannah" books. I almost won a signed copy of her book to give to my swap partner but the seller would only ship media mail and I was afarid I wouldn't get it to my partner fast enough. In the end I sent her One Breath Away by Heather Gudenkauf (Which I also added to my Goodreads to read list.)

This current nail craze isn't isn't something I have gotten in to. Before I got married and started a family I had my nails done regularly but haven't been able to keep up on in a while. I was suprised how happy I was about this in the end. I picked out a beutiful light purple polish for my partner. I must have liked it so much that I keep looking for my light purple polish only to remember I don't have one.

My blog partner went all out with me, I got 4 polish's! I asked to not get pink because Yesenia loves to sit and put it on all at once. I first put on this color which I think will be my favorite of them all! After applying this I started to get back into having cute colored nails again. Maybe it's my new gift, or the Spring in the air, who knows?

These were the other colors I got, all so fun. I also was extra special to get a lip gloss, which oddly I despratley needed a new one. Then I got one of the books I have been wanting to read! Ally Condie has this series that I have been intrigued by and have heard really good things about. It skipped my to read book shelf and went right to my nightstand. As soon as I finish my book club book it's at the top of the list!
